Does NSFoundation have a data structure like the std::map? NSMutableDictionary is close, but doesn't seem to have any way to check if a certain key is already inside.

Damn. He was definitely one of my favorite comedians. His standup was awesome, and he was the only reason I watched any of Comedy Central's roasts. Wish it was Carlos Mencia or Dane Cook instead. **** sux.

This is a perfectly good place to ask that question. I haven't done any network programming for OSX myself but a quick look in the cocoa book I have points to NSFILEHANDLE and NSSTREAM as the two classes you might need. Looking over at the apple documentation gives two pages that will probably point you in the right direction.

I have a cheap Bytecc external case. (Oxford 911 chipset) It has both firewire and usb2. I put a harddrive in one and a Lite-On DVD burner in the other.
Both work great for windows and mac.

Hi all,
with the other ways of getting around Word documents like clicking on headings in the Document Map, I'm wondering if ANYONE ever really uses the Notebook View and finds it worthwhile?
I have honestly never used it; I either use print preview (only when editing to see how long the work is, where it stacks up, etc.) but I mostly type in the drafts page since there is hardly any breaking of writing and allows me to continue going without any distractions :)

I think in theory if you damaged the phone and got the replacement in the US the replacement phone would be locked, even for you having a legit unlock.
But yeah, official unlock should be permanent.

It seems like Apple is moving towards a particular style for their apps. iCal and Address book are probably just the beginning. What do you think of the new trend?

Hi, that's a nice idea but I have a few questions/feedback..
If I stumbled upon the site I'm not sure I would know what it was for - a more detailed explanation would be useful.
How would you "police" this? Clearly this is professionals looking for other professionals to do work. How do you propose people get paid for their work? Or is it supposed to be free?
I'm not sure the forum format is the bast way to go - how about just a "post my project" type thing? Check out somewhere like crowdSpring to get an idea of what I mean (but without the spec work)

Thanks to everyone who helped out with Macrumors event coverage.
MudBug => Provided IRC transcripts
jammerb => Provided Satellite Feed for the website updates
Knox => IRC coordination/bot management
Mr. Anderson, Eyelikeart, AmbitiousLemon, Rower_CPU => Moderating these forums during this busy time
Sparkleytone,Shadow95 => IRC moderation
Some useless stats:
- ~1500 people were on IRC across 3 channels for the event coverage.
- The Keynote coverage page was loaded over 860,000 times yesterday.
- Forums hit a new record of 2652 users on at once. (and we didn't crash :) )

I found the page
http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/bepppolicies_gov.html
maybe someone can find it helpful.
I guess I can buy only one applecare, since I can get only one macbook per a year.

Does any one have any monitor color calibration equipment they'd recommend? From Pantone to to Spyder to LaCie there are multiple options out there and I'd like to hear what other designers prefer and have found to be the most accurate themselves. I'd prefer to keep the price down if possible, but my monitor calibration has gotten so far off the mark that I really do need to have it calibrated now. Thanks for any help or opinions you can provide!
Nothing? No one has any suggestions?

Okay, So I'll use the text client too, but when I followed the directions on the site, it gave me something for a beta version and said that had expired in 2008 :confused:
Can someone assist me with the command line prompts. I'm new to terminal on a Mac.
