Online case status and infopass are useful for things like address change, namecheck status, finger printing issues , and other issues being dealt where no processing or less processing is required like GC not received, approval not received , letters lost etc...
When it comes to such complicated issues, you have to get real help.
Basically - you have to somehow cut through beurocracy and get your issues resolved.
Good luck, I am sure, things will get under control soon.

I thought it would be very helpful because I can talk to IO face to face and explain my situation in detail. One thing I would appreciate about IO is she was very patient and she tried to understand my case fully. But at last she said she cannot help me. She said the only option I have left is just to wait to hear from AAO. She said her daily job is to give the latest status of the cases, giving immigration forms and help people if they have any doubts.
I asked her that can I file EAD when my MTR for I485 is pending with AAO? She was not sure about it. Then she made a call to Nebraska Service Centre and found out that I can file EAD. I need to attach I290B receipt along with EAP application form. I am just wondering has any one has done this before? Is that really possible?

I sent back a new I-693 form along with TB testresult (thru USPS). USCIS received the document on 08/14.
Today (08/15), I got a mail with contents
"Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case
processing has resumed"
Do you have any idea, how long it will take to approve the 485 after they receive the RFE documents.
Do they still continue to approve the cases after Aug 17th?
I got an RFE for the latest employment letter. After I sent the required documents, in about 8 days I got approved. I'm hoping yours should be close

....... But its better not to apply for any government aid if possible. There are many people who have applied for unemployement. It would be interesting to find out if they had issues during the 485 approval
1. Unemployment benifit is not a goverment aid. Its a insurance which is deducted from every paycheck.
2. Goverment aid has increased the insurance from almost 6 months to almost one year. However we are not qualified for the goverment aid. Unemployment benifit people have given be 28 weeks instead of 54 weeks (in CA). One of my friend in Mass (boston) got 30 weeks instead of 59 weeks. Hi all, my first post here. The forum has been truly useful so far and I'm glad to join today. I was one of those just lurking around but now I really need the feedback from D70 experts here since my 6 month old D70 won't work anymore overnight. I just put it back in the shock-proof case and it slept there, next morning it was no longer usable.
It seems like it's resetting constantly by itself. The MENU key shows the menu briefly and disappears, the last picture review button shows the last picture on the flash card briefly and also disappears.
When there's a card in it blinks the green light about once a second. Seems like it's really rebooting every second.
There is no display on the control LCD near the on/off switch. It is blank and does not show any traces of anything, just plain blank.
On the big LCD preview screen it is normally blank but like I said it does briefly display the last picture taken when you press review, but then disappears also at 1 second interval.
When the menu shows briefly after pressing MENU the movement keys do not affect the selection, all keys seem disabled during that brief period of time.
I've changed batteries, lenses, pushed every button and checked the lens socket connectors to see if anything looked strange - everything seems ok here. Tested the same batteries on another D70 and worked perfect just this morning.
It has taken no shocks or beating. It's a brand new D70 (6 months and a few days) and my retailer denies me warranty after 6 months - Murphy's Law applied to warranties says your equipment will break exactly after the warranty voids. I feel like I've been ripped off buying a refurbished piece for the price of a new one...but that's for another discussion.
I've written Nikon a few minutes ago but in the meantime I'd like to know if anyone here knows of a "keylock" switch or something that could disallow me access to the camera. Or could be a stuck reset switch or something like that. The menu shows and the internal mechanism is ok because it can read the last photo and displays readable stuff. The reset on the bottom of the camera does not seem ot reset anything, it just blanks the screen out briefly but then it goes back into an infinite reboot loop.
Help please!

I guess the 10 days is "time for pack up" technically.
That is what the POE officer always stamped on my I94.
I was driving to the US from Canada and got a new I-94 on the port of entry. Immigration officer put a date that was 10 days ahead of the expiry on my I-797 telling me that I would have 10 additional days post I-797 expiry to leave the country.
Is this normal? Do I need the date changed on my I-94 to be the date I have on I-797? I would really appreciate your input on this.

I got my receipt numbers from the checks... I issued my personal checks where checks address is different that 485 address.... I hope this is clear... Please don't worry too much...everyone will get the receipts soon...

This is a very common issue. Most of the times the HR title and job title and Labor title do not match.
I know it is a common issue for anybody. But if USCIS goes strictly, then it is a problem.

We had a emergency situation last year. We had already filed our AP documents a couple of months ago but had not been approved. We went to USCIS office and showed hospital letter as a proof for emergency. They made us fill a new application and AP was approved in 1 day.
If you do not get help in one of the offices, try your luck at another USCIS office.

Eventually they will accept it if it was wrongly rejected so you do not have to worry that you won't be able to re-file it after 9/30.

I do not think its a right approach to go to police for this mistake in the report as this is not a primary law and order problem, assumining that its a mistake in the report.
if you have been rejected for a job position based on a background screening report your employer must inform you about this and provide you with a full copy of the report. Generally they will send it in mail to your mailing address...
If you find a mistake in the report, which has led to this situation, you must dispute the wrong information in the screening report at once and get in touch with the company that conducted the check.
Tell them about the wrong information they have provided in the report and demand an immediate re-investigation, both by sending a letter and asking them over the phone as well.
Under Federal regulations an employer is prevented for five days from hiring another person in your place from the date when you dispute the wrong information in the report. So, do not loose hope, you may still get the same job provided the mistake is corrected in the report with in 5 days.

You cannot come back to US because VO first cancels the existing valid visas before making a decision to grant a new one. You will have to return to your home country.

I was hired by my present company as a software engineer. I did development for 3 yrs and the company later moved me to a Business Analyst's role later. However, my labor application lists my job duties as s/w Engineer in a programmer's role.
Would I be able to use AC21? Do I need to find a s/w development job or can I join as BA as well? I am in a big predicament. Any help here is greatly appreciated.

Extension of H1B beyond six year, is possible only if any employment based greeen card applications (like Labor Certification and 140) is pending or approved. As your mom is not having any Employment based GC applications pending, she can't apply H1B extension beyond six years. The best advise is leave the country before expiry of I-94 and enter thro CP based on I-130; Dont count on 180 day period. If she want to stay in US to file AOS based on I-130, she has to find a way to change of other non-immigrant status like student etc..

Is part-time H1 and full-time student without F1, a problem with Univ.?
I haven't heard of a case where a person being full time student but on a H1b and doing part-time work. Anyone knows of such?
