Also you need to look at the number of amendments not just the number of pages.

Is there a pattern for RFEs? Why some on gets an RFE for AP?
Good question - based on what I am reading on this forum, it seems to me like the RFE is requested for people who travel a lot in and out of the country. My wife has traveled a lot of times - I even lost track in the last 5 years - and she did tell me that they did not take her I-94. It would be still attached to the passport and when she enters back - if the travel time was less than 20 days, the officer discarded her new I-94 and asked her to keep the old I-94 - in some cases, he/she would just take it during entry. This happens mostly when she travels to Mexico or South America. The evidence that was being requested is the dates of travel and type of visa used to enter the country with the required documented evidence on the passport (color copy).

I did not follow the I-485 filing debate; it was sickening. I made a one time contribution. I don't think I am included in the 220 count. I think there are very few members who have made a one time payment recently and are not included in 220.
I think, the count 220 includes only recurring payments that started this month. Some persons paid before this count started.
The only useful thing we can do is to work on contributions. It is hard to figure out reasons why persons are not paying. I think it will be useful if we guess all possible reasons and work on all of them.
We should not insult any non-paying member or anyone for that matter. I still want to know

That is equivalent of approx 22 miles. I doubt there is anybody is bombay that drives 35 km one way on a daily basis. But in the US living 10-20 miles from work is not bad. People in my office drive about 40 miles one way without blinking an eyelid. Some drive even more. Plus the cars that they have in india have smaller engines, smaller capacity thereby better gas mileage.
So for people who say gas is a non issue, think again.

I say, we will not see signifcant changes in the US lifestyle due to increasing gas prices. People will adapt and continue to do what they are doing. But this is theory and cannot be substantiated with evidence. Hence, I accept I could be wrong too.

Thanks brb2 for picking up on my concern.I was afraid,not a single person would reply.This problem is going to be as bad as the BEC one if nothing gets done about it.Its so unfair and there are soooooooooo many people stuck at that stage with no hope of even knowing their status,until its actually approved or denied.Cant even imagine how frustrating that is going to be.Yet somehow not many seem worried about it.Even though i am not at that stage yet,its painful to see my friends go through it.They have resigned themselves to wait endlessly.If we can fight against the unfairness of the july flip flop,we can surely do something about this.I am sure core group has this in mind but it'll help if all members show the same anxiety!!Maybe we can bring this up along with the SKILL bill.Maybe the FBI needs more funds or manpower,watever it is,let them ask for it and get it,instead of stuffing us all into this bottomless pit!!

The greatest good will not be achieved by just passing the labor cert. stage. The greatest good is achieved once we have the GC card. Your effort on retrogression to benefit 250k & 200k is plausible. But you help them to pass one bridge, to just get stuck on the next. If there are 25k people stuck in name check at this time, imagine what will happen when the estimated 200k-250k reach that stage.
If the 25k spent in average 3 years in the name check, what will be the wait time for that massive population that are headed that way after retrog & labor cert? The EB process is a big picture and the greatest number will not get the greatest good until all these obstacle are resolved all the way to the end.

There is a whole thread on this discussion where members of all nationalities have complained about IV not taking the FBI name check issue seriously. I think the moot point that IV core members are focussing on is, the fact that retrogression is making life unbearable for just about everyone. Plus given the following facts:
1) A Serious Majority of the IV members are affected more by retrogression+labor as compared to FBI name checks. and
2) IV core members have full time jobs and spouses and are working pro-bono for the good of everyone and money collected is also coming in slowly and thorugh the IV members themselves.
These 2 facts mean that both time and money is at a premium and they have to spend it solving the problem they originally started to solve. Believe me, some of the core members themselves are stuck with the FBI name check issue for the past 2 years or so.
Given all these facts, you have to understand where IV and it's mission/policy stands. To my understanding the policy is "One step at a time".
