Does no one know about this at all really?
It seems to be a problem with dhcp. I noticed that it had a 169 IP adress, so tried to change it, now it won't get ip address automatically.
There must be someone out there that has had this problem before, I like to think i'm unique, but that's just an ego thing really.

Hi guys, did a search but no luck related to restoring a win7 image.:(
Basically, I thought my HDD had died a week ago - many HDD's later found out it was the flex cable connecting the logic board to the drive. New one bought and installed and everything is okay.
I have bought a new WD 750gb scorpio black drive and restored my OSX using time machine, then used bootcamp assistant to make a new bootcamp partition.
I then went to restore my win7 winclone image but keep receiving the erros message. I have formatted it to FAT 32, and NTFS - with no luck on either. I have seen some XP specific forum posts with some really helpful log viewings, dissections and eventual resolutions, but these seem to be slightly different from mine. Here is the log output if anybody can help:

I meet one person after another who thinks iTunes Store tracks are sourced from CDs. But to me this doesn't make any sense because for the amount of tracks available on the store, the number that become newly available regularly... it would take an army.
I was always under the impression that Apple sourced the tracks digitally from the labels, and encoded to AAC from sources that were almost certainly higher up the ladder than CD quality (ie; studio master)
Does anybody know for sure what the lineage of Store songs is?
Thanks.

Dear Sir,
Just look at Apple's products today. They come with OS X Tiger, that you are running, but they all come with 512 MB of memory. Why? Apple does not want to embarrass themselves. Tiger is simply not effective, with 256 MB of memory. It makes everything slow and less efficient.
Try it. Add some memory to your imac. You'll be blown away at what your computer is capable of performing. It doesn't matter if you're using basic programs, any program, within Tiger, will feel a *lot* better, with more memory.

I have comcast and the transition went suprisingly well. I downloaded their little app that corrected all my settings automatically. It worked fine in 10.2 for me.

My mbp runs fine on mains power but in battery the CPU jumps to nearly 100% and becomes extremely slow
I have tried it in safe boot and it strangely runs fine on battery
Any ideas

No, I don't think Apple has any plans to fix this Microsoft-like issue that they created. However, you can download JavaEmbeddingPlugin0.8.9 and install it in Internet plug-ins and it should work fine, but of course, it's still beta.

why not leave the connector, and cut/splice the wires to the new switch?
free is better than buying more plastic connectors...
EDIT: didn't see the 'without leaving traces' bit. how about a couple small wire taps. they poke thru the insulation on the two wires and provide connection to the new switch, but could be removed and leave little/no trace of intrusion. best of luck.

Perhaps, if the project supported more than Windows machines, it would be possible to help.
It appears that the software behind it does work on Mac OS X, though. Maybe they just need to update the information on their FAQ page.

As long as they don't use Chess!
If this were to become true, I think it would fail as well.

That's a "DUH" moment - can't believe I forgot about that!
One question related to -- is there any mouse/trackpad movement/app that can "simulate" a tab-press?
BetterTouchTool, you can assign gestures to keyboard commands with it.

When you have a form and type a paragraph into one of the form elements, and then want to select text within the form, it selects giants swaths of text - there is no way to just select a word or two. Does anyone know why and how to fix it?

Here are a couple of apps you might want to try,
http://jbullfrog.com/froglog/?p=104
This will put Copy Path in your Services menu.
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/copypathfinderbutton.html
This will let you put an icon at the top of Finder.
Being new to using a Mac you may not have discovered the Service menu and and all the things it will allow you to easily do. You can find it under the Apps menu, next to the Apple menu and at the bottom of the Right click context menu. It will change according to what is available for that app. The default Services will get you started but you can add more by using the Services Preferences under the Apps menu or by going to System preference > Keyboard > Keyboard shortcut > Services
If you already know about Services maybe some one else will find it handy

So insurance has officially denied my claim, and my stolen 15" Powerbook, along with about $1000 worth of personal belongings, will in all likelyhood never grace my hands again. So its time to bite the bullet and credit myself a new Mac, I am just not sure wether I want another PB (i had a lot of problems with the last one) or if maybe I should go with an iMac. I really loved the portability of my PB, but more power larger HD etc. etc. is very tempting in the iMac arena. Any thoughts/recomendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
