Anyone have any luck getting the $18.00 fee waived when they upgraded their iPhone? If so what tactic did you use....Just ask, tell them they did it for a friend etc....
Why not just pay the $18.00 and get it over with? Honestly, $18.00 isn't bad at all. It's really nothing.

Updating the ram is a must. You will see a great performance boost. You might be a little slow with leopard, but if that's not a problem then you should upgrade.

I recommend that adapter (it's from IDE&ATA[and some others] to USB 2.0). It's good for quick transfers of data from bare hard drives and you can always use it again in the future. Quite a useful gadget to have lying around.

There simply isn't a screw to tighten somewhere? Well I guess I need to take it in to an Apple store as that kind of work is beyond me. Thanks.

I'm working with a client who has a domain and hosting located on GoDaddy. I prefer using CPanel, but I don't think GoDaddy offers it, so I'm hoping that someone here could help me out on how I could point the domain to the hosting account. The domain and the hosting were purchased at separate times, so I'm not sure how to set them up so they'd work together. On the main account page under hosting it shows a Launch button under the Control Center. That page takes me to a configuration menu where it allows me to set up an FTP account for the domain. I'm just not sure if once I go through with that if everything will work correctly. It's not my account, so I'd rather not start poking around and pressing whatever buttons and then screw things up for them.

Hi folks,
I have an app that need a fairly complicate key array/nsdictionary list that it uses to calculate other information. The data isn't large and it needs to be accessible from several classes.
I've been reading around and people have used several methods, a singleton class , EXTERN variables, and property list.
I think apple recommends using plist?
And I would write code to populate the plist with the array. Where do I put this code, in the application didFinishedLaunching? So the xml/plist gets written or rewritten every time the application is launched?
thanks.

That does sound like you've recieved something already on its death bed.
Try getting hold of your supplier and see if you can get a replacement?
Its actually his old iphone 3G that has the issue not the new iphone 4 he received.

Sounds like your optical drive is fubar.
There's are a few options here. You can take to apple repair and pay to get it replace which can be quite costly. You could use an external USB CD drive but this can be in convenient if you move around a lot with your MacBook. Finally you can pick up a replacement drive fro eBay or another online retailer and do the repair yourself. Its very simple and the whole process should take around 15-30 minutes depending on skill set.
Here is a guide to help you (http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/MacBook-Core-2-Duo-Optical-Drive-Replacement/518/1).

Have you tried Max (http://sbooth.org/Max/)?
I used it (among others things) to transcode FLAC files in AAC. It is a good ripper too.

I think what happend to me was the same sort of thing when i downgraded from 4.3.1 to 4.2.1.
I was stuck in a never ending recovery loop and after a frantic few minutes i just ran Greenpois0n and it came back to life.
Maybe you could try the same with what ever it is that can JB 4.3.2?

Apple claims that a PRAM reset will automatically reset the Power Manager. I've always assumed this Power Manager to be the PMU but I've seen problems not solved with a PRAM reset yet solved with a PMU reset.
How is this so?
Any help is greatly appreciated, as ever. :)
For most things a PRAM reset will solve. It resets a lot of the PMU settings but does not reset charge/discharge defaults.

Can you be more specific with the problem? What links? What's your javascript code in question? How are you calling it? Have you made any test cases on a stripped-down page with just some basic html and the javascript you are using? Have you tried using Firefox with the web developer extension to show you the javascript errors?
Ok, the code that is not working in my version of safari deals with highlighting the link you select in the "links" section (that should look like iTunes' source selection area). Currently, on my computer's safari 1.3, a link does not highlight when it is clicked, and the title image does not change to reflect the new link (for example, it doesn't change from showing <news.php> to <blog.php>). The link, however, loads fine.
I hope that is a little clearer. The javascript is called with an "onclick=" option on the <a> tag. I have tried the code on a stripped-down page, and it has the same problem. I have not tried it with Firefox, because I unfortunately do not have firefox (I am on dialup and refrain from downloading something large unless I absolutely, absolutely need it).
I have not changed the page at all since it was working perfectly with Safari on my G4, so I wanted to know if it still works for you guys on supported computers.

Biffy Clyro are exploding in the UK with am album which is challenging Robbie Williams at the top of the charts.
No Revolutions is stunning and will make Biffy Clyro Britains and soon the World's biggest band.
Think of a glorious mixture between Led Zepellin, The Proclaimers, Motorhead, Nirvana and The Eagles then maybe it is something like the unique sound Biffy Clyro has created.

I think we are talking about two different things here. If we are talking about persisting a small bit of data then a plist is likely the answer. When it comes to accessing the same data from several classes then singleton is the answer. So in your case you probably want to load data from a plist into a singleton.
