what app is that in the second picture?
Its an app called IntelliScreen and it allows you to glimpse at your critical data on your iPhone "Slide to Unlock" screen.

Or is it really just tailored for OS X and iOS development?
Yes, this one. IMO the reason to use XCode is if you're doing Cocoa or Cocoa Touch development. It is nice, so I guess large-scale C++ or maybe even C work might be worth trying, but it's going to pump out code for various procs (PPC <before 3.something>, x86, x86_64) in Mach-O format. There may be a way to work out a build environment using makefiles, usw. that will result in a cross-compilation toolchain being used to build for linux, but this isn't an "out of the box" feature as far as I know. They want you to use it to make great Mac software. They don't really want the same great software to be available on Linux and Windows.

Use Windows 7 installation DVD and start the boot sector repair program. You usually need to to run it twice and you'll be fine.

So - are we really surprised? Is Adobe just "lazy" or did they cut their QA department? Maybe Safari does not have a significant enough market share to warrant QA testing?
The world may never know.
Safari may not have a market share as big as Firefox if we look at all operating systems combined, however I would bet that Safari is the most used browser on Mac OS X.

I already have the 35mm DX but if Nikon were to make a similar priced 20 or 24mm I'd ditch the 35mm for the 50mm and wider prime combination.

i miss the days when c|net used to cover it live on cable. much better to watch it on TV than in front of a 1st generation broadband connection with dropouts, etc.

Still probably a good idea to make sure that you actually installed 64 bit.
32 bit just can't address thar much RAM because some of the 4GB address space is taken up by hardware. 2 GB is a bit extreme, but possible.

For awhile now (before and after various point upgrades) I've been seeing something that is a little odd. When I save items to my desktop, I end up getting multiple "copies" of them. Except they aren't really copies, but just duplicate icons. If I throw one of them away, they both go.
Here is an example:
http://www.mremw.com/MR_Images/Picture%201.jpg
As you can see, it doesn't happen to all files all the time (and never to hard drives or CDs). What's even stranger is that occasionally, if I'm saving a file to the desktop, or modifying an existing desktop file, the icons multiply even more:

I've tried most things (repairing permissions, rebuilding user account, etc.) with no luck. I'm assuming I might need to do a fresh install or something.
Anyone else get this?

Apple also makes storage solutions.

I don't know how much this will help actually...the rubber case on bottom is actually reported by apple to dissipate heat. And so by taking that off, and leaving the m cover on, may actually cause the macbook to get warmer as the bottom won't have anything to transfer heat through. I don't know this for sure, but I have a feeling that's what will happen.

Im looking for some speakers for my iPod touch 4g. They should be under $100 and with great bass, because I will use them mostly for travelling parties. They have to be portable. I would probalby go for this:
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/speakers-audio/ipod-mp3-speakers/devices/4781
I read reviews and people say speaker is loud and clear and have good bass. It is also portable. Do you think they are good to buy or should I go for something else? Thanks a lot
I don't have that unit, but Logitech dock speakers are usually good bang-for-your-buck. I love their Pure-Fi Anywhere 2. Small & lightweight, can be plugged in or uses an internal rechargable battery. Sounds great despite it's small size. I listen to it outside on the deck, take it on vacations to a condo or hotel, etc. HOWEVER, it's not made to crank super loud like at a party (unless it's a party in a dorm room or similar).
The one you point to is a clock radio, basically, so I also question whether it would get loud enough for your needs. I think you should look at the Logitech S715i.

That signals to me that you may have synced his apps on to your iPad. Therefore when the AppStore show that it has updates available, it will update your apps (after logging in) and when it attempts to update the other apps (it requires his/hers account log in info as well. Happened to me before and the only way i found to get rid of that annoyance is to uninstall those apps and redownload them while you are logged into your account.

Oh damn! i wish i had a camera! I just, tonight moded my black pro mouse that came with my PM G4 MDD. I use the puck with my 12 PB, and thought, it looks cool, like all apple stuff, but maybe I can make it look cooler! I took it apart, spray painted the inside and bottom, both have yet another layer of clear outside of them, so it still looks professional, but now, it matches my powerbook!

He's right you should try to put 512 MB in there if you're running 10.4 to get a little more performance. I think you can go up to 1.25 GB of RAM on that computer.

Both... Some people tattoo dolphins and tigers and stuff. I wanted a penguin. Im not an experienced linux-user, but I found this on some linux-sites.
Guess I took it mostly for being a penguin fan ;-)
I know my way around on a Linux-system, though ;)

Hi all:
Here is my situation: I have a Mac Pro that contains my main administrator account (the one that gets used 99.9% of the time and which has all my files and applications), as well as a smaller account for my wife. In her account is her iTunes library, which has grown tremendously over the last few years. We download songs from iTunes (or rip them from CDs) into my account, then copy them to her account, so that any song on "her side" is also on my side. Since her account has gotten so big, I figured it would be easier and save a lot of space if I made a playlist for her in my iTunes account and synced her iPod to that.
Here's my question: is there an easy way to create a playlist based on the music in her library. I'd hate to have to create the playlist and go back and forth between accounts to see which songs to drag into the new playlist (she has about 3,000 songs).
Thanks very much, and please let me know if my request is unclear.
Matthew

Today I connected my iPhone 4 to my Bose speaker that has a specific connection for iPhone, and to my surprise I started getting pop ups to dismiss saying that the device is not compatible. I continued trying until it started to play the music. This was not happening with my iPhone 3gs or recent iPod Touch. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I thought the iPhone 4 was updated and more compatible to issues like these.

I was hoping there would be some cheaper alternatives, but it's whatever. I just bought the Apple AV adapter for $30 on eBay. Does it do audio too?
Yes it does (referring to the HDMI digital adapter that Apple sells) been using mine since they released it and it works perfectly. Great video too coming from playing Netflix (iPhone) to a HDTV.
