We dont have any here in Malaysia :(
Then you need to request help online, like the person 2 posts ago said. Go to https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do and type in your serial number and it will tell you whether you are covered by warranty and guide you through sending the broken parts to Apple for repair/replacement.

You've tried everything I can think of. At this point I'd take it in. Maybe bad power supply, CPU, or main board.

I was talking with my ex tonight, and he told me that he has full blown AIDS. I feel so bad for him and want to do whatever I can to help him out, so I searched for a project like Folding@home and found FightAIDS@home. I want to ask anyone and everyone who can help to please do so to help find a cure for AIDS. I don't want to see him or countless others die because of this damn retrovirus. If you could spread the word, create a team, and setup your folding to do work only for FightAIDS@home that'd be great. I'm asking for the community support of the MacRumors forum. Thank you
I've put the link in my signature. Really please, I don't want to see my ex die. If you could get at least one other person to join that'd be great. Also we can create the macrumors team and show the world that the Mac community has a lot of support behind it.
EDIT: Post if you're going to join the project so I can see who's gonna support me and others with this.

No, all of the shortcuts didn't work. Copy, paste, etc. It was very frustrating, but I haven't seen the problem since the most recent beta update of 1password. Thats my best guess about the problem.
Weird. I have to admit I am glad to see 1Password finally working pretty well for Safari.

That is correct for the sawtooth, I think, it might be only 1.5Gb of ram though. The B&W I think is the same.

yeah, Three-Speech later updated and said 2K told them it was only for 360 and PC. One would imagine it would eventually come to PS3, especially if it sells well, but meh! I'll snag it for my 360 :D
Lair better come out in July, this spring is a dry wasteland for good games :( aside from paper mario anyway.

We love the subs! 'Cuz they are good to us. The Quiznos subs. They are tasty, they are crunchy, they are warm because they toast them. They got a pepper bar!"

I thought a little about why the MBA doesn't have ethernet. I think it comes down to this: an RJ-45 jack used for ethernet is larger than the MBA. So if you did have ethernet you'd need some kind of (proprietary) dongle arrangement.
The physical space of the MBA prevents more than about 4 ports even if they are small. One is power, one is video. That leaves 2 at most. Would you rather have 1 USB and 1 dedicated ethernet (with a dongle) or 2 USB where one USB can be used as ethernet with a dongle? I'd rather have 2 USB. And eventually the video will double as a Thunderbolt port.
Given that 802.11n pretty much approaches ethernet speeds, that pretty much seals the argument for no ethernet.
If you really want ethernet, get the Apple USB/Ethernet dongle.

I've just mentioned this to my girlfriend, who works for HM Revenue and Customs, and her response was "I'm not surprised."
She does, however, maintain that this wasn't her fault. How do I find out if my records have been deleted?

The answer to your question is if you need mobility? The iMac you get more bang for your buck but it is not mobile. I too debated this question for some time. Since I always had a desktop grant my desktop was almost 10 years old & still kicking (windows pc). Now the notebook segment has some pretty powerful processors which are almost a desktop replacement. In the end I went with the MBP 15" 2010 model. Very happy with my decision. I use it more desktop than mobile. So I have a 28" HD display & all the works connected to it. When I travel I like the mobility aspect.
The question is the mobility. Do you need it or not?

I have been battling in my mind as to which Mac to get. Portability would be nice (aka powerbook), but it comes at a hefty cost. My major in college is Media Arts and Design and I will be doing a lot of digital video stuff. They recommend you to have a mac and Final Cut Pro. Would an iMac G5 be good for this? How are the innards different than the powerbook or powermac?
Please only post if you know what you are saying...ie no "well I don't see why the iMac wouldn't be fine for you" blah blah.. Thanks in advance :)

After seeing the complete MESS that Apple Support has made of their forums this weekend, I won't be going back there again, ever!
Please MacRumors, keep your forums just the way they are --- categories and all!
Riveting tale, mate!
Glad you finally realized the superiority of MR forums :p

I was wondering what works great for calibrating an iMac? I have used the i1 display 2 from x-rite and was wondering who has had good sucess with it. to me it seems to automatically adjust everything and you do not have to do anything manually. I still thing the screen brightness is too bright. Does it not change this setting? Also is the x-rite color munki better? I am using the 27" iMac and the epson 4900 pro stylus printer. I have found an internal color calibration tool in system preferences on the iMac. Anyone ever used this?
I am trying to get to WYSIWYG when printing from my iMac to my epson 4900 printer.
thanks...

Hello all,
I've been having the typical beachball and freezing issues that plague some of us that have decided to put an SSD in our MacBook Pros. After reading that Apple had released a different part number for the HDD cable (922-9062) I decided to check mine and see if I had the newer one. I did not, it was 821-0814.
I ordered a new cable from iFixit with the PN of 922-9062 listed on their website and received a 821-0814 cable. iFixit customer service says Apple does not change their part numbers externally on the device and that I in fact have a 922-9062 HDD cable now.
Can anyone confirm/refute this? Has anyone seen a 13" MBP HDD cable with 922-9062 printed on it?
This is NOT a thread intended to bash iFixit. They have been very good to me and I will continue to give them my business. I'm just hoping they're wrong in this one instance and I have a shot at getting my MBP to play nice with my SSD. :(

While there is a chance that the file has been overwritten, the OS itself takes up only a small portion of the drive. If the file was elsewhere than where the install and temp files since then were, you may be able to use data recovery software to get it back. Try something like FileSalvage to get the deleted file back. (http://www.subrosasoft.com/OSXSoftware/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1) You can use the demo to see if the file(s) can be recovered before you buy so if you find the file(s) are gone, you aren't out any money. Good luck. In the future as others have said, always make sure you backup before clean installing the OS. It's a painful lesson to learn.
