I was def under audio...for me the only fix was adding my music folder manually to the sharing list. Then it shoes up. Have audio working fine now...though the inability to go back and search other tracks while listening to a song is a deal-breaker for me for now.
I like to search the next song while one song is playing and if you back out on this it stops playback...very poorly done on PS3 part as I don't think this is Medialink problem.

So I bought a MBP at the start of March, and after over a month with it I kind of regret getting it, as I don't need the portability and would much rather have an iMac + iPad combination.
I'm from the UK, so I was wondering if anybody knew if it is possible to return the laptop after the 14 day period. I have heard some people say you can if you pay a 10% restocking fee or something which I don't mind but others have said different. Also, it's not just that I wish I got something else, the MBP (13 inch base model) gets very hot and the fan can be extremely loud/unbearable, especially when watching videos/tv or having more than 3 programmes on, sometimes I have to completely shut it down to stop the noise. Sometimes it's not as loud though. It would be hard to prove this in the Apple store and I would feel like an idiot if it didn't happen, but would Apple allow me to return it for that?
I so badly want an iMac and iPad :( Although the fan problem was bothering me before anyway.

Doubt they'll give you a new unit but they WILL fix your current one, go ahead and bring it in.
Well in the case that they can't fix it, they will replace it.

Trying to open ports to allow hosting Killing Floor games, but no matter what I do, it doesn't want to open them.
The following ports are used by the game:
7707 UDP/IP (Game Port)
7708 UDP/IP (Query Port)
7717 UDP/IP (GameSpy Query Port)
28852 TCP/IP and UDP (Allows your Server to Connect to the Master Server Browser)
8075 TCP/IP (Port set via ListenPort that your WebAdmin will run on)
20560 UDP/IP (Steam Port)
* Linksys E1000 router w/ latest firmware installed
* Computer is assigned a static IP address (wired connection)
* Port Forwarding and Port Range forwarding have been configured
* Have tried DMZ to my Mac, no difference
* Mac OS X Firewall is disabled
* Router firewall is disabled
* Firewall On with the app on the allow list isn't making a difference
This web-based tool and Network Utility keep showing the required ports as "closed" even though I have set up port forwarding to my Mac's IP and there are no firewalls in place.
http://www.canyouseeme.org/
Here's the thing: if I enable something like Web Sharing (port 80) in Sharing, it opens and closes the port just fine, and those two utilities show the port's status properly.
But no matter what I do, firewall on or off, I can't get ports 7707-7717 and the others to become "open" on my Mac.

Make a group containing the people you want to have access to the documents, then set the group folder to mount/dock automatically for users of this group. Then transfer the contents you want to share into this new shared folder.
That way you can keep personal documents private and share those documents you need to. Also if it's a work network you can add and remove users from the group as you need to, and they will be granted/denied access automatically.
As an example, both my partner and myself are on a charitable trust committee, so at home we have a family group which contains all the information for us both to access.
Hope this helps.

Yes. I use it all the time when making CD/DVDs to take to work.

Haven't actually read any of the books, but Dreamweaver usually comes with a great set of tutorials. Try those, and if the learning curve still is too steep, go for the Dreamweaver Bible (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0764543504/qid=1123025870/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/104-4406894-0006331?v=glance&s=books), The Missing Manual (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0596006314/qid=1123025847/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-4406894-0006331) or similar. :)

Hello, I was wondering if using an external Bluetooth gps antennae would work with ios4. Is there an API that would allow app devs to implement this? I know this works on a jailbroken iPod but I'm not sure if I want to do that.

I've been running ClimatePrediction on my 1.33ghz PowerBook for over a year, and you can still run it without a broadband pipe to download or upload data.
BTW: "data" is already plural; the singular form of the word is "datum".

Hopefully the other 2011 models will soon follow. I had a suspicion it would be soon since the MBP no longer have the "new" icon when you enter the store.
Edit: Obviously the Title should say MBP instead of MPB
Second Edit: Guess I was a bit late to the party http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1140219&highlight=2011+refurbished

Just wondering if anyone here has been able to find the location of the Bookmarks file for Safari 5.1 in OS X Lion, previously the 'bookmarks.plist' file was under 'User/Library/Safari', but as you may have noticed in Lion this structure has been changed, there's no Library folder under the User folder now, i've looked in the the system Library folders & in Safari's package contents but can't find anything.
Has Apple changed the way Safari stores the bookmarks? Or am I just looking in the wrong places?
If anyone could advise the whereabouts it would greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can bridge the Airport Extreme and Time Capsule together. That will give you five Gig-E output ports. You only need one of them running Wifi though - otherwise they will compete with one another.
Plug the Mini Server and NAS into one of those two. Obviously the Mini Server is the central repository. Use Home Sharing to send the files to your laptops. I guess the iPod Touch goes through the laptop for configuration. If you can wire in the AppleTV (although it is only 100Base-T), you should since you are carrying 320GB. Otherwise Wifi transfers will be a little slow.
As for all the external hard drives. You might as well hang them all off the Mac Mini (assuming they are USB). It can serve them out just as well/better than the Time Capsule or AEBS.
Not that I don't have a lot of hard drives lying about, but it seems like you might have overkill there.
As for MobileMe, if rumors are to be believed, wait a month or so and that world is going to change.
FYI, I have a server running in the basement which is hardwired into an AEBS and Linksys WRT54G, so similar to what you are proposing. The server has a 2TB Time Machine drive and a 1TB iTunes drive which is basically a 24/7 duplicate of my main computer's iTunes library. My main computer has a 640GB main drive and a 1TB media drive for my iTunes Library. I've got a couple AppleTV's (250GB and 40GB), iPhones (original and 4G), some iPods and now an iPad2.

We had about 10,000photos when our iPhoto library became too unstable to use with confidence.
We looked at Lightroom and Aperture before finally deciding on Lightroom.
We've been happy and not looked back. We only put our top 1% of photos into iPhoto for easy uploading to Facebook/mobileme gallery etc.
I suggest using MRoogle (http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/) to search for threads about "lightroom or aperture", but most people end up saying that you can download both for 30days trials and then decide. But make sure you have plenty of time to play before you decide.
