I'm wondering if there's a keyboard shortcut that will let me navigate to the place(s) on a webpage where there is a text box for input, rather than having to move the mouse to that exact location when I'm moving between web pages ... ?

Update the apps on the phone and iPod first.. Then you can see which app is causing the problem..

Hey guys,
Sorry for such a basic question but I'm kind of in a pinch and been looking pretty much everywhere and can't find anything. I've been using a lot of notepad++ on the Windows side for programming basic web stuff in class, and I really like how easy it is to use and how it poitns out where there are errors in your code, I was wondering if there is something similar to that for OSX. I've tried BBedit but I wasn't too pleased with its in ability to save as .php

You are correct. Weird. just trash your preferences. if that doesnt work try a permissions repair. You will be suprised how much a permissions repair can fix.

I'm running a Quicksilver G4 with 1.25GB ram and it is also a 867MHz model. I'm running Leopard on it. It seems mostly fine to me, a little sluggish sometimes though. I still use it for a bit of web surfing, word processing, spreadsheets, etc. for that level of activity it is fine. In fact, I'm using it now. It always brings a smile to my face when I think this thing is about 10 years old almost (not sure of it's birthdate!), and it is still reliable and more importantly it is actually *functional*.

Thanks for the answers, guys.
Not really worried about fraud or anything; I just thought there might be a charge other than tax.
Nope - I've probably bought $20,000 worth of Apple stuff online (no, not all my own - some for my last job). It should go off wihtout a hitch.

My 12PB has done a little of this since day one. Along with every laptop I've owned. I believe this has to do with the phosphorus in the backlight needing to reach a critical excitement mass - samer thing with CRT's needing it. Streetlights have the same effect, though they're argon or mercury vapor.
It's normal.

When you say map what, exactly, do you mean? A folder (or in Unix terms a directory)?

Hurray, I found it! Thanks for letting me know of the Powerwave. Without checking that out I wouldn't have found the thing I was looking for.
$19.99 is certainly in my budget. :)

Hey guys,
After problem x 1,000,000 of trying to get pro tools 8 running on my PC ive got a macbook!
I was wondering what external HD requirements are like on a macbook for pro tools?
Only having 2 USB sockets and no firewire what do you suggest?
Are USB HD's possible to record too?
Thanks guys,
Dan

If you enable firewire disk mode, or have iTunes open (i think), then this is perfectly normal. The computer cannot access the information if it's dismounted, and you shouldn't disconnect it while mounted. So eject it, wait for the checkmark, then unplug.
Quick way to eject that i'm fond of, iPodEject (try www.versiontracker.com), puts an iPod in your menubar, so you can dismount it with one click while apps are open, etc etc...

Yes, this machine should have the signatures on the inside. According to the serial number this is a original Mac made in Fremont, California in the35th week of 1984, and was the 2725th Mac produced that week.
See here to decode classic Mac serial numbers:

As for the printing issue... I'm not sure. You can try booting from the other disk and seeing if it will print. Not sure what program are you trying to print from. One option is to take a blank floppy and copy the system from the newer disk, and the program from the other disk and put them on the same floppy.
Many original 128K Macs have been upgraded... does this have 128K RAM, or has it been upgraded to a 512K board? The floppy drive may also have been upgraded from 400K to 800K.

does anyone know which code to use for back ground music that will work for both mac and PC?
Do not, under any circumstances, add background music to a website. Ever.

Hi,
playing with a imac g4 (OS 9.2, yeah, it's a long story) to try to get some anolog stuff on CD. there's a way to switch the speaker out to line in. how do i find it?
I'm a total newbie to macs so I need all the gory details like what to open, etc.
also, Macs use a special sized speaker plug? I'm running desk top speakers now through the headphone jack.

There is a (relatively) new Random Song Link on the top right navigation. This lets you keep finding new random songs from the database.
There is now a list of songs with only 1 Recommendation so far on the mid-right navigation bar. This is to try to increase exposure and recommendations to songs that people may not have seen.
For songs with themes, you can now click on the Theme and see other songs with themes. Will get more exposure to themes once we figure out some good ones to have.

I think that's pathetic.
Should have let this thread die on 11/21.
Agreed. I expected better than fart jokes, but I guess Microsoft is involved so, should've known anything involving that would be taken down a few notches...
